Denver to Mesa Verde: Day One and Two

The first and the second day of our exciting trip were amazing because we were able to meet new and awesome people! On June 8th we met in Fort Collins but then we rode to Denver to pick up the students from the 5450 District.  We were told that the trip to Mesa Verde was going to be long and we realized that with that time we could hang out and get to know everybody better.  It was incredible to see how good we can get along with other people in such a short time and actually become friends so easily!  The people from Belo USA are so nice, so kind and help us a lot in order that we could have fun and enjoy our trip!

When we finally arrived to the hotel we had an awesome dinner  The restaurant had some amazing views!!!! During dinner we could talk about our lives or funny stories and enjoy our meal with such good friends.  Then we left and we went to our rooms to sleep and looked forward for our second day.

Our second day was interesting because we visited Mea Verde National Park and everything around was so beautiful!  The nature was incredible and we could learn about the history of this place and how the ancestoral pueblo people lived.  We had a short hike where we could take a lot of pictures and see all the beauty around.  We went to Cliff Palace where we went down into the canyon.  We learned what a Kieva was, saw a cool wall painting in a tower and climbed ladders to get back to the top.  We also went to Spruce Tree House.  At Spruce Tree House we were able to go down into a Kieva and experience what the ancestoral Pueblo people might have experienced.  Later, we went back to the hotel to have lunch and then we left to Williams, AZ.  We did some stops along the way to stretch and when we arrived  we had another delicious dinner.  This hotel had a lot of different areas that we could enjoy such as a pool, nice backyard so we could take short walks, game areas and hot tubs.  We had the check in and went to rest for the next day.  We are all excited to be apart of this amazing adventure and gain these unforgettable memories that we are going to have after our whole trip.  Thanks Rotary and Belo USA to show us all the beauty of this country and to give us the opportunity to have this once in a lifetime experience!  This is going to be a blast and we have TEN MORE DAYS to share and enjoy together! WE FEEL OFFICIALLY WELCOMED TO THE WEST COAST BUS TRIP 2014!!
